IRC Ambulance Service

As a social organization has a strong commitment to carry out social-humanity activities with participation from volunteers as the organization strength and able to handle accident casualties as well as emergency cases and evacuate them to the nearest medical facility. IRC always developing cooperation and partnership with institution operates in medical service such as Public Health Center (PHC), medication post, health clinics, hospital and several ambulance services.

The ambulance service is one of IRC humanity service. Many IRC branches longing for this facility as a means of emergency service in order to transport patient immediately from IRC Base or IRC Ambulance Post to the hospital.

Ambulance also plays important role in disaster relief activities. A IRC Ambulance team, as stated in IRC Ambulance Service Guidance book, must held a minimum 40 hours First Aid Certificate and able to carry out the first aid, has a medical background (for doctors, nurses and paramedics volunteering in IRC), has become a member of local IRC at least a year and possess a good comprehension about red cross. Hopefully with IRC first aid and evacuation provided by the ambulance service, patients will have intensive care immediately in medical facility nearby. Thus, severe injury risk and death toll can be minimized.
